Every shoot I do I really try to keep my eyes open for great accessories, I guess you could call them that, to use In my photos. So we are walking along and there it is - one vintage barbeque. Honestly, It was a little gross to handle but I got it in position and it looked great! Honestly, it was also blue and I had to fix that in PS. Honestly, could you use honestly a little less.:) But still clearly its a great shot. My fav shot. I just wonder what the owner thought when he found his barbeque 50 feet away against the wall...I like to keep people guessing:) Leo I know you still have to comes to term with this image but I think it will grow on you!
Hanit & Andrew made their vows in the late summer of of 2009. They had one of my most elegant weddings of the summer. Andrew is an amazing glassblowing artist whose work sells all over the country. His work is beautiful: http://www.axiomglass.com/ if you are interested. You could tell he had his hand in the design of the whole event because it turned out beautifully. Hanit's beautiful dress.
The Wabeek Country Club has some great Vistas but I could resist this great wall next to the dumpster - love the texture and look. This is what you call perfect wedding weather. It was 75 degrees nice. Could be the cutest... The design of the Ceremony was just gorgeous. I love the branches and delicate white flowers. Such a beautiful accent as Hanit Processed. My Favorite Image from the wedding. The Ultimate late night Bar Hopping Mobile: the Trolly.
I photographed Lauren & Seans wedding at the end of July. They had a beautiful day and held their ceremony and Reception at Knollwood CC in West Bloomfield. DeeDee Hoffman the wedding coordinator scheduled the Ceremony for right at sunset and the light was beautiful. I love the shtos of their parents and the expression on their faces during the beggining of the ceremony. I love the shot of their chuppa as well - I think it looks like the garden of eden. Oh and the creme brulle was just amazing - if you wondering why you didn't get any you may have to blame me. It made it into this collection for its sheer tastiness. Here are a few of my favorites starting with the rings and invitation.
From Viva Las Vegas heading out to Fiji to do a Trash the Dress bridal shoot I wanted to give a little taste of one of the highlight weddings of my spring. Sharyn & Peter were married in Phuket Thailand in Late April and their weddng was gorgeous. Trisara Resort is one of the premiere resorts on the whole Island. Their ceremony started right on the beach and lead to the reception held on one of Trisaras 4000 square foot residences. Two days after the wedding Sharyn Peter and I took a longtail boat out to Pnang Nga Bay to do a day after shoot. All of it was like a fantasy for me and I'm sure Sharyn and Peter felt the same. Take a look at their highlight slideshow.
Monday this week was Opening Day for the Detroit Tigers! It was exciting as it was depressing to seem them loose. They had a great game until the 10th inning when The BlueJays scored twice to win 5 - 3. The experience wasn't all fun for me though. I woke up at 415 am to do a time lapse for Anheuser Busch of the stadium filling up with people. I shot for about 10 hours and took 1500 pictures of the exact same thing! Pretty boring. But in the end it produces a really cool movie of the sun rising over the stadium with thousands of people eventually packing it out. You will see this in AB's local bud commercials that will run of Tigers baseball in Detroit. You may have also heard me being interviewed on WWJ detroit radio because All the news crews wanted to know what I had been doing there since 5:30 AM. Here is a link to the video.
In the latest Michigan Bride you can see my photography as one of the featured weddings! Corin and TJ Got married and held their Reception and their Parents Lake House on Lake Michigan. They had an amazing Ceremony and The reception began as the sun was setting over the South Haven Lighthouse. Wow. To top that they had a string quartet play for the ceremony, and Marachay Band to kick of the Party, a Cover band Following them and an Acoustic band in the basement Bar. Most importantly Corin and TJ were a great match!
A couple of my previous wedding clients from about about a year ago recently gave birth to their first child. Cindy and Joseph David came back to have me photograph their newborn baby boy in Ann Arbor Michigan. He was amazingly good and it was so great to be able to see Cindy and Joseph again. Such a pleasure to see my couples happy and loving one another in Marriage. I always hope that my wedding images will encourage and remind couples of their love and commitment to one another. I don't take credit at all for their love, but it is nice to know I get to play a part in the romance in some way.
Wow I've been busy lately - Hope everyone is well and enjoying the Holidays! I have been! I wanted to post about this bottle of wine I photographed last week for a local Wine merchant in town. Sod, of Tiffany's was kind enough to actually gift me a bottle after the shoot and it was as amazing as he says. According to Sod, this wine should be rated around a 94 - which is extremely high. This is his wine of the year and I can certainly see why: amazingly smooth with rich flavors. I would recommend it to all of my clients. Enjoy!
Last Weekend I got the oppurtunity to shoot the annual Moda Fashion held in Kalamazoo MI. I was blown away by the designer Talent and of the event coordination. Kristina Moellering took charge of the show this year and she did an amazing job with the lights, coordination, planning, and communications. Best wishes to all the Models and Designers!
All week long everyone worried about the weather for this wedding. Michigan saw cold rainy days the week leading up to Carolines Saturday. That morning however everyone woke up to a beautiful brisk fall day. Everyone was so thankful. Caroline and her girls were getting ready in Birmingham at Todd's Room and Bashar. Amazing Salons that I would highly recommend. Caroline got married at the Franklin Community church to Steve around 4. It was a beautiful ceremony and full of love. The reception was at the Lavish Orchard Lake Country Club and was absolutely stunning with a quartet, live band, and an unforgetable guest appearance by an unbelievably talented Neil Diamond lookalike to sing, "Sweet Caroline." Caroline and Steve are a great couple and have been such a pleasure to get to know - I hope you enjoy some of their photographs!
Waiting to photograph the bride.
Caroline is so Loved. Look at those eyes.

These were all done on Campus at Michigan State - Kara TJ and I had a great time enjoying the sunset and the beautiful falling light on Campus.
I like this one because its rockin the Adam and Eve Vibe.
I had a blast shooting this engagement! They were such a fun couple and we totally just enjoyed ourselves in downtown Kalamazoo. We had a few Martinis at the Union before we went out and that livened things up a bit. And if your not totally sure, that is blue steel;) Here some pics and a quick slideshow I made for them. www.siesserphotography.com/slideshows/jd/
Been working all morning on Keith and Rachaels Wedding. The were married in St. Jospeh near the beach at the Shadowland Pavillion in St. Joe. It was the Hottest Saturday of the year and the Ceremony was Outside. Needless to say I was shootin in my BR gray T but it was all good. Don't know how many mini-water Bottles we went through but it was worth it for the amazing location. The reception was the the historical Heritage Center. All I can say was...Air Conditioning...
The Couple: They have an amazing relationship and it was great to work them. Both were down to earth and relaxed, I know that God will use them so much as the Both Grow old Together. Here are a few photographs from their wedding.
